„The Bumiller Collection“

The BUMILLER COLLECTION is a unique collection of ancient Persian metal art. In addition to top pieces, everyday objects from serial production that were created in the Central Asian region are presented. Imaginative abstract decors, depictions of the animal world and mythical creatures lead you into the medieval world of life on the Silk Road. The trade contacts between the Mediterranean and the Far East brought together different influences and shaped art in the Iranian region. The collection, which includes over 6,000 objects, is housed in the historic Haus zum Benedikt. The Baroque period rooms, including two halls with stucco ceilings by Johann Jakob Vogel, can now be experienced in their original condition again following extensive renovation work in the early 1990s.
