Market gardeners' district and herb lore
Guided tour through the Wunderburg district
Bamberg would never have become a World Heritage City if it was not for the Market Gardeners' District.
On this tour through the upper section of the historical World Heritage market gardening district, you will gain an insight into the special character of this unique urban structure. A visit to Mussärol organic herb gardens sheds light on the market gardeners' work both yesterday and today. A guided herb tour rounds off the visit, introducing you to the most important herbs grown in Bamberg (liquorice and majoram).
The tour ends at the herb gardens Mussärol, Nuremberg Street. From there it is a nice 30 minute walk back to the town centre, or take the bus for a convenient ride.
