Ebrach's town center still impresses today with its outstanding ensemble of churches, the residential-like baroque complex with gardens, and the historic outbuildings of the monastery. The abbey was dissolved in 1803. The cloistered wing became a Bavarian correctional facility as early as the 19th century. The renowned Ebrach Music Summer takes place annually in these magnificent rooms.
In addition to its historic heritage, Ebrach boasts a beautiful landscape, offering hikers, cyclists, and other active enthusiasts a diverse and well-developed range of activities. There is a natural swimming pool, a camping and barbecue area [link to: https://www.weihersee.de], and a skate park.
In the town center, the Ebrach History Museum, the Wild Beech Forests exhibition, and the Ebrach Monastery Landscape Information Center offer background information on the diverse cultural landscape of the Steigerwald through a variety of exhibitions.
In the immediate vicinity, you can climb to the heights of the forest on the Steigerwald Treetop Walk with its 42-meter-high tower.
