Lauter

Northern gateway to Steigerwald Forest

Lauter, mentioned for the first time in 1251, with its member municipalities of Deusdorf, Appendorf and Leppelsdorf is located in the romantic valley of the Lautergrund and belongs to the Baunach administrative community.

Worth seeing is the chapel of Mary Nativity in Deusdorf from 1877. Fish farming and the annual “Spring Festival” in the Deusdorfer Mühle Mill are known far beyond the borders of the municipality.

Lauter is part of the Haßberge Nature Park. In addition to Nordic hiking routes, there are also various nature trails in the immediate vicinity.
