3D Model of Bamberg’s Cathedral Hill

Cathedral Square is definitely one of the most important places in Bamberg’s history with a range of imposing buildings, both sacred and worldly

Near the wall called Trautmannsmauer in the southwest corner visitors can survey the whole square and its ensemble of historic buildings with the help of this gold bronze 3D model, built true to scale 1 : 200.
It was made especially for the orientation of the blind and the partially sighted and is fitted with markings and explanations in Braille. Once the surrounding cobble stone grounds are adjusted for wheelchair accessibility, there will be an extra access to the model for people with walking aids and wheel chairs.
Even though the caste-bronze model is hollow, it still weighs a massive 167 kg.
