Bamberg Market

The weekly market in Bamberg’s pedestrian zone offers fruit and vegetables from the region and from all over the world from Mondays to Saturdays 7 am to 6 pm.
Enjoy the scent of fresh strawberries, apples and pears from Franconia, seasonal vegetables like asparagus from the local producers, the typical potatoes or onions from the region, salad and cucumbers, tomatoes and many local specialities. The market also offers tropical fruits, of course, from bananas to pineapples. The weekly market has its origins in the 11th century, when the local farmers sold their produce to the citizens, the craftsmen and the bishop’s entourage straight from the fields within the city boundaries, now known as the Market Gardeners’ District.
