Potatoes, radish, savoy cabbage, onions or liquorice, all the sorts, that go back many centuries, are still cultivated here in order to keep this organic heritage for future generations. The display garden is well-tended by the members of the Association of the Bamberg Potager Garden on an area of 400 m² with a total of around 30 different crop plants. Visitors are highly welcome and can experience the history of gardening and the usage of the different crops.
Please note:
Access to the show garden is via the Market Gardeners’ Museum (Mittelstr. 34) during their regular opening hours. The entrance is to the left of the garden of the museum. The visit of the Potager garden is included in the entrance fee of the museum.
This nursery for vegetables is the custodian of all the historic varieties of vegetables of the Bamberg market gardeners
