Coming from the city, you walk along the so-called “Benedictine Way.” This idyllic path leads you through the beautiful monastery garden and, past the carefully restored vineyard on the south slope of Michaelsberg, to former baroque gardens with terraces and the picturesque dolphin fountain. It is worth pausing here and letting your gaze wander in all directions. Once you reach the top, on the so-called east plateau of the former monastery complex, you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the entire old town of Bamberg.
The garden of the former Benedictine monastery, which is still cultivated today, is the ideal place to while away the hours. A lovely walk from the old town to the monastery complex rewards you with breathtaking views.
