The so called ERBA site was the location of Bamberg's Bavarian Garden Show in 2012. More than 1 million visitors came to see the flowers and gardens and a fantastic conversion of a former industrial site to a completely new park at the northern tip of Bamberg's island district.
The park is situated about 1.5 miles from the town centre in the north-west of Bamberg. The large red-brick factory complex, which is now a student accommodation, was a cotton spinning mill and was originally built in the mid-19th century. Various buildings still remind visitors of the history of the grounds. Especially the five great playgrounds built on the occasion of the Garden Show in 2012 are a big attraction for children.
