Ebrach Music Summer

The Ebrach Music Summer is a festival held during the warmer months in the former Cistercian abbey of Ebrach. For over 30 seasons, this concert series has stood for musical excellence in a unique, historical setting

Every year, the Ebrach Music Summer impresses with a diverse program featuring renowned artists in captivating orchestral concerts, spanning from the Baroque to the Late Romantic periods.

Particular highlights are the Bruckner concerts in Ebrach Abbey Church: the composer's majestic sound world is brought to life in one of Franconia's most impressive sacred spaces.

The Ebrach Music Summer has its own festival orchestra, the Philharmonie Festiva, conducted by its founder, Gerd Schaller. The album recordings Schaller has made with the Philharmonie Festiva at the Ebrach Music Summer have been unanimously praised by international music critics and have received numerous awards, including the ECHO Klassik.

The magnificent Imperial Hall of the former abbey, with its size and acoustics, rivals the concert halls of Beethoven's time. It is used for both classical and baroque repertoire.

The International Organ Concerts, organized by the Ebrach Organ Society, feature renowned organists performing on the three organs of the abbey church.

The Ebrach Music Summer offers unforgettable moments in venues steeped in history and atmosphere, nestled in the beautiful Steigerwald landscape.
