Information from your host
The origins of this house date back to the 12th century. The building has stood in its current size since the beginning of the 18th century. During the very elaborate and careful renovation and restoration, we placed great emphasis on using, as far as possible, only the materials and techniques used when the rooms were originally constructed. You will therefore not find any plasterboard, expanding foam, polystyrene, or similar materials. The existing floorboards were preserved, restored, and supplemented wherever possible. New areas were generally constructed with larch planks according to traditional methods. The floor coverings are treated with organic oils or simply with soap. Walls and ceilings were mostly protected with several layers of lime plaster, then floated or "scraped" and painted with several coats of pure lime paint. This traditional, eco-friendly renovation has created a very healthy indoor climate, but the materials are also delicate. We therefore ask you to treat them with care.
