Starting April 29, 2025, the museum will once again present all its departments and launch the exhibition RE-CALL. Significant paintings of art history invite visitors to the "Picture Walk | Paintings Tell Stories" section. The exhibition "Jewishness in Bamberg" highlights an important facet of our culture. "A New Era Dawns | Bamberg's Bourgeoisie between Romanticism and the Wilhelminian Period" tells of the commitment of Bamberg's citizens to the well-being of their city, of new ideas and changing tastes in art. "Time and Space" presents astonishingly precise observation and surveying instruments, models of the prevailing worldviews, as well as sundials and mechanical clocks from the 16th to the 18th century. The cabinet exhibition "Fairytale Transformations" explores the Apfelweibla (apple woman) in the work of E.T.A. Hoffmann. The Bamberg Historical Society is presenting "Highlights" from its extensive collections in its studio exhibition.
Families with children and young people can explore our exhibitions in a playful way. Pick up the free discovery guide at the museum ticket office.
In addition, the cultural and educational program offers a wide and interesting selection of hands-on programs for children of all ages, school classes, and adults, and the museum is also a great place to celebrate children's birthdays. You can find details on the relevant subpages.
A diverse supporting program with guided tours and events is also offered in the city's museums.
