The bronze sculpture „Große Figur 1982“ (“Large Figure 1982”) by Greek-born artist Joannis Avramidis is an abstract representation of the human body. The artist simplifies the form by omitting details such as arms and face and instead emphasizing the basic structures: Head, neck, shoulders, chest, hips, legs and feet.
A central design feature is the approximate symmetry of the body, which is divided into two halves by an imaginary mirror axis. In contrast, the front and back are clearly different, creating a visible dividing line at their transitions. These structural elements - axes and lines - lend the sculpture a particularly harmonious effect.
After an exhibition, the sculpture was acquired by the Friends of the International Artists' House Villa Concordia e.V. with the support of the Oberfrankenstiftung and private donors.
