Under the title ‘Come and see’, the Bamberg Nativity Scene Enthusiasts are once again presenting over 35 nativity scenes in their traditional exhibition in the Matern Chapel. This time, the Nativity Scene Enthusiasts are particularly pleased to be able to show the nativity scene from the monastery church of St. Theodor. For many years, this Carmelite nativity scene was an important stop on the Bamberg Nativity Scene Trail. The scene depicting the 12-year-old Jesus in the temple can be seen not in the monastery church, which is currently undergoing renovation, but nearby in the Matern Chapel.

The Matern Chapel has hosted Christmas nativity scene exhibitions every year since 1930 and Passion nativity scene exhibitions every year since 1990. The nativity scene exhibitions are rearranged each time with around 40 nativity scenes.
