Town hall Königsfeld municipality
Königsfeld as the easternmost community in Bamberg County is one of the oldest communities in the area. Interesting valley landscapes alternate with impressive mountain ranges. The varied flora and fauna characterize the area.
Besides the fortified church of St. James, there are a total of 17 pretty little village churches and chapels in the area. The Königsfelder Kapellenweg (Königsfeld Chapel Trail), designed as four circular hiking trails of varying lengths around Königsfeld, offers an insight into Catholic popular beliefs and rural customs. Worth seeing are the Aufseß spring and the meandering Aufseß valley.
Hikers will find Paradise Valley a quiet, unspoiled dry valley with many scenic and botanical attractions. The "Blühende Jura" in the Nature Park Fränkische Schweiz-Veldensteiner Forst with numerous rock formations invites you to hikes and climbing.
Typical Franconian restaurants and a private brewery invite you to a visit.
