The municipality of Pettsadt is located about eight kilometres south of Bamberg at the mouth of the Rauhe Ebrach into the Regnitz.
Pettstadt is conveniently located and has a direct connection to the A3 and the A73 via the B 505.
The municipality became particularly well-known thanks to the the "Pettstadter Schmied", the oldest yaw ferry in Upper Franconia and an important link for bicycle tours in the south of Bamberg.
