The community of Walsdorf with its affiliated villages of Erlau, Zettelsdorf, Kolmsdorf, Feigendorf and Hetzentännig lies in the middle of the Aurachtal valley. It combines the proximity to the world heritage city of Bamberg with life in the countryside including all of its advantages. Worthy of note are the excellently developed cycling and hiking trails that run along the renowned areas of the aurochs, wild horses and water buffalo rearings.

The numerous festivals and events in Walsdorf and its community villages offer many opportunities for citizens to get together. The "Walsdorf Farmers' Market" is well known far beyond regional boundaries and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
