A 12th Century Tower

3 hours 17 km GPX - Datei

From Trabelsdorf via Lisberg to Priesendorf

Lisberg Castle is among the oldest intact castles in Germany and the only castle in the Steigerwald that was never destroyed. The early mediaeval castle and its romantic castle keep with a dungeon in its base date back to the 12th century.

Along the way, you'll also find the Friedleinsbrunnen, a well comprising several springs which lie close to one another and have been gathered to form one fountain. The well was also the favourite place of Charlotte von Kalb, poet and friend of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich Schiller and Jean Paul.
