Aischtal Valley Cycling Tour
A charming river cycling route
This 117 km cycling trail through the valley of the River Aisch is rich in variety and takes you from medieval Rothenburg to the historic town of Bamberg.
Picturesque towns, idyllic villages, many museums, churches and palaces are the cultural highlights of the tour, wonderful landscape, meadows and lakes and the lush valleys of the rivers Aisch and Regnitz are the natural companions on the way.
Only 300 metres of elevation have to be conquered on the length of the tour, taking you mostly along natural paths with sparse traffic. It is regarded as especially suitable for children. You can also combine the route with local public transport of the VGN network, due to the many train stations on the way and the intersection with lots of other bike trails. The Aischtal bike route is an ADFC accredited 4-star quality route, guaranteeing high quality in infrastructure, marking and safety.
