As old as Methuselah
Around Ebrach through the nature conservation area Spitzenberg
They are up to 250 years old or even older, and thanks to the favourable conditions in the woods around Ebrach, they have grown very well: The Methusalem-trees in the conservation area Spitzenberg.
With a diameter of up to 144 centimetres they belong to the strongest trees in Germany. A total of nine trees were marked as Methuselah-trees by the forestry of Ebrach. However, one of them has fallen over by now. Their bizarre forms and their size are truly fascinating as well as the 220-million-year-old bentonite by the wayside.
