Seven Rivers Path
Jura, water meadows, and natural bathing lakes in the Main Valley, vineyards and sandstone slopes in the Hassberge Mountains and lots of forest and green valleys in the Steigerwald Nature Park.
The path takes you from Bamberg along the western periphery of the Valley of the River Regnitz to Kreuzberg near Hallerndorf, takes you across the Regnitz near Altendorf and up towards Eggolsheim to the border to Franconian Switzerland. Schloss Seehof Palace and the Valley of the River Main is next on the route, Staffelberg hill, along the rivers Itz, Baunach and Main. Once more, you cross the River Main near Ebelsbach and the return route takes you along a scenic path overlooking the Main Valley and the Steigerwald Forest.
All the legs of the route can be reached by train or bus.
Please note: 44 % of the path is on tarmac, 37 % on forest trails, 19 % on unsurfaced hiking paths.
