The Seven Saints
From Burgebrach via the Ruin of Windeck to Grasmannsdorf
Bridges were once known as gathering places of ghosts and witches. Thus, people wanted to protect these structures and turned to the saints for celestial help. Serving as an impressive example for this is the Nikolai Bridge with its seven patron saints of bridges near Grassmannsdorf.
Another sight of historical significance is the former moat of the nobles of Windeck’s castle, once situated on one of the hills. Today, only vestiges of the castle complex remain. Burgebrach’s landscape and its gentle hills, meadows and rivers also provide the ideal habitat for storks.
