Urban Ecological Experience Path

10,2 percent of Bamberg’s urban area are designated as a biotope worth being protected. A didactic and experience path presents some of the overall 193 biotope areas

The path leads from Michaelsberg Hill to Altenburg Castle and is three kilometres long. Along the way, there are a plethora of stations for the senses such as “feeling rocks” or “recognising tree age”.  An additional accompanying booklet containing detailed information (in German) and even a film can be obtained at the information centre in the town hall and the environment agency.
