At this point we offer you a brief overview of the currently valid rules with regard to the pandemic.

- City tours:
Guided tours can still take place, but the 2Gplus rule applies to all tours - also outdoors - (vaccinated, recovered and current test evidence, rapid test, no older than 24 hours is sufficient). In addition, it is compulsory to wear an FFP2 mask at all times.
You get access to all restaurants and pubs with your 2G proof (vaccinated or recovered). As long as you are seated, you can take off your mask, otherwise FFP2 masking is mandatory. Restaurants are closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Pubs and taverns as well as discos and clubs remain completely closed.
- Overnight stay:
For your overnight stay you also need proof of 2G (vaccinated or recovered). You are required to wear an FFP2 mask outside of your room.
For business travel you are allowed to stay ovenight without vaccination or proof of recovery, but need a valid PCR-Test on arrival and again every 72 h.
- Culture, sport, leisure:
Access to all events in the field of culture, sport and leisure is subject to the 2Gplus regulation (vaccinated, recovered and tested). This also applies to access to cultural institutions, museums and exhibitions, sights, concert halls, theaters, cinemas, etc. For events in buildings and stadiums, a maximum occupancy of 25% applies. The obligation to wear an FFP2 mask also applies everywhere, including at the seat.
- Public Transport:
The 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered or tested) and the obligation to wear an FFP2 mask applies here.
- Retail trade:
Access to shops and stores is still free, but with the obligation to wear an FFP2 mask. There is a restriction to one customer per 10m² sales area.
The following contact restrictions apply to unvaccinated people: You may only meet members of your own household and also members of another household, as long as a total of 5 people is not exceeded. Children under 12 years and three months of age belonging to these households, as well as vaccinated or recovered persons, do not count towards the total number.
In addition, there is a ban on alcohol consumption in Bamberg's public space in the old town area on Friday and Saturday nights.
Except for the points mentioned above, there is no general mask requirement in the open air.
Guests and visitors as well as operators who do not adhere to these regulations must expect a fine.
