Founded in 1975, this quartet plays a wide variety of music of all periods from the Baroque era to Classic and Romantic times and also likes to include contemporary compositions. It enjoys great renown and is invited to play at many festivals and concert series all over Europe and also abroad. The String Quartet is comprised of members or former members of the famous Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and is responsible for several concert series in Bamberg and its region: The Sunday Concerts, The Chamber Music Festivals in Schloss Seehof Palace and the candlelit concerts in the wonderful parish church of Litzendorf near Bamberg.
