Town hall Buttenheim municipality

Situated on the edge of the Regnitz valley, the market town of Buttenheim was first mentioned in a document in 1118 AD. It boasts numerous cycling and hiking trails as a gateway to “Franconian Switzerland" and has a population of around 3,700.

It offers the opportunity to go for long walks, hikes and engage in sportive activities. The typical Franconian parish festivals in all parts of the municipality, the traditional Georgiritt, the Georgenmarkt and other crowd-pullers such as the tower and oven festival or the "Road's Party" are widely known beyond the boundaries of the region.

Enjoy the culinary delights of our three breweries, eight Franconian beer gardens and twelve inns and round off your stay in Buttenheim with a visit to the Levi Strauss Museum, birth place of the inventor of the Blue Jeans, now a a highly decorated museum.

Whether cultural facilities and events, sports facilities or lively society life – Buttenheim has lots to offer for guests and citizens alike who value a rich variety of leisure activities for the whole family.
