Immerse yourself in the shadows of the past: At the Zeil Witchcraft Documentation Center, you'll experience the dramatic history of the 17th-century witch hunts at the original site. No dry facts here – just goosebump-inducing moments that move you and make you think.
What to expect
The permanent exhibition uses interrogation transcripts, letters, and the diary of Mayor Johann Langhans to show how fear and power opened the floodgates to abuse. Audiovisual presentations allow you to intensely relive the events. From 2026, the special exhibition "Torture and Jurisdiction" will complement the exhibits. The radio play "Death at the Stake" will immerse you in the horror.

Moderate admission prices (from €3), guided tours and lectures available upon request. Seasonal opening hours and events can be found online.
