Originating from a student and apprentice band of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Bamberg, the musicians have developed into an ensemble highly regarded far beyond the region. With numerous concerts both at home and abroad, as well as regular appearances at folk festivals and church events, they delight their audiences. They have won the title of "European Champion" several times in their discipline – a testament to their high musical standard. Under the direction of their new conductor, Kornel Hetterich, who is also a well-known figure in the scene, the musicians play a diverse repertoire of classic Bohemian-Moravian pieces, modern brass band hits, and their own arrangements. The Don Bosco Musicians place great emphasis on the joy of playing, sound quality, and authentic interpretation. Their live performances are characterized by an infectious atmosphere and a close connection with the audience – whether at festival tents, open-air concerts, or church services. With their musical presence, they make a significant contribution to the preservation and further development of traditional brass band culture.
