Hidden away in the gardeners' quarter, a red gate is the first thing that catches the eye. Behind it, in the garden of the property on Kunigundenruhstraße, lies a backyard house known as the garden house

This wonderful venue has been home to the Neues Palais e.V. association for some time now, which was founded in Bamberg in 1984 by a handful of puppeteers, professors, and craftspeople. During intermissions, the inviting garden is open in addition to the beautiful hall. Here, visitors can enjoy a drink and a snack while meeting the artists and exchanging ideas.

The association's dedication has already been recognized with two awards: the Berganza Prize from the Bamberg Art Association and the ETA Hoffmann Advancement Award from the City of Bamberg.

The Bamberg Guitar Days festival was launched by the Palais team in 1995. The numerous concerts alternate between classical and pop music, jazz and blues, tango and flamenco. In addition to artists from Bamberg and the surrounding region, international stars perform annually. Young talents from music schools and universities also have the opportunity to gain their first experience performing in front of an audience.

Literary events complement the musical program. The highlights here are the staged readings combined with moving stage sets by the silhouette artist Wolfgang Müller.
