The Miracle Sphere "Wunderkugel"

An arts project in the Wunderburg District of Bamberg

The artist called on citizens from the Wunderburg district of Bamberg to donate scrap metal with a personal history for the art project. Only scrap metal objects that were donated from the locals were welded to form the sphere. All the added background and history connected to the metal objects were documented as part of the project.

In total, around 120 citizens took part in the art project in the course of 3 years and thus became part of the whole venture.

Total weight: 800 kilogrammes - diameter: 2 metres - construction time: 3 years.
