Tourist Information Ebrach

The market town of Ebrach and its ten affiliated villages are located in the middle of the central Steigerwald Nature Park, surrounded by an impressive forest landscape. The Cistercian abbey, built in 1127, is one of the most important features of the town.

The Baroque staircase, the abbey gardens and the imposing Emperor’s hall (Kaisersaal) stand out. The renowned Ebracher Musiksommer Festival takes place annually in the complex. The Museum of History of Ebrach is also worth a visit.

In addition to the historical buildings, Ebrach scores with its surrounding natural landscape. Hikers and cyclists will get their money’s worth here. Ebrach, for example, is home to a Nordic Walking Centre and the popular 2Franken cycle path, that passes through town.

In addition to a natural swimming pool - without any chemical additives -, a camping and barbecue area, a methuselah trail, where ancient trees can be admired, the village scores points above all with the "Steigerwald treetop canopy pathway", which allows an imposing view of the Lower and Upper Franconian landscape thanks to its elevated path and its 42-metre-high tower.
