Alternating exhibitions, lectures, readings and musical events have been taking place at Villa Dessauer since 1987, most of which are organised by the City of Bamberg. The art society - Kunstverein Bamberg e.V. - and the regional association of fine artists - Berufsverband Bildender Künstler Oberfranken - also exhibit here. Modern and contemporary art are thus cast a major role. An additional focus is the "Crossover of Cultures" series whose individual exhibitions are devoted to the art of a specific country. Photography is, likewise, frequently featured.
Event Preview 2026:
- From April 3 to May 17, the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Upper Franconia (BBK) presents its annual exhibition entitled "Transparency." (Subject to change)
- Following this, the Bamberg Art Association presents "Sophia Süßmilch and Cathrin Hoffmann" from June 7 to July 19, 2026. (Subject to change)
