The castle can only be visited during the concerts of Capella Antiqua Bambergensis and by prior arrangement.

The small town of Wernsdorf is located near the beautiful city of Bamberg. Wernsdorf castle was once a hunting lodge for the prince bishops. Today the Private Academy for Ancient Music, History of Culture and Humanities is based there. Several cultural events take place in the castle, amongst others concerts of Capella Antiqua Bambergensis, a musical ensemble playing music of medieval times on original instruments.
