Beer Day

Especially in the 19th century, Bamberg, with its 65 breweries, had a unique position in Franconia and even today beer is still brewed here in numerous, mostly medium-sized, breweries. For years, this unique tradition culminated on Beer Day (April 23).
Beer Day is currently no longer celebrated centrally in Bamberg. Specialties such as Ungespundenes, Pils, Rauchbier or Weissbier can be tasted in the brewery restaurants.
