The tour takes you along the River Main, northbound from Bamberg, through the valley of the River Itz with its typical half timber framework houses towards Coburg and Bad Rodach to Frankenwald Forest. It then takes a turn heading back south via the Upper Main Valley with Banz Monastery and the famous Pilgrimage Church of the Fourteen Saints towards Bamberg.
The section around Bamberg is shaped by the proximity to the rivers and the beauty of the landscape with cultural highlights en route.
