The people of Bamberg have their very own herald of spring, which tells them to go back outside into nature: the "Haingögerla". This plant, a flowering larkspur, stretches its head out of the ground of Bamberg's "Hain" city park in spring and transforms it into a sea of flowers. But the "Haingögerla" is not the only special thing about spring. At Easter time, many churches set up nativity scenes, so-called Passion cribs, which depict the Passion of Christ.
