The festival's goal is to present culture in an accessible and inclusive way for everyone. Thanks to its non-commercial concept, the festival is entirely donation-based and free for visitors. To guarantee this, kontakt relies on donations from supporters. The program includes music, singing, bands, DJs, as well as family activities, theater, acrobatics, lectures, workshops, and art. The organizers are delighted to welcome all visitors again this year to the Metalluk grounds at Ohmstraße 8 in Bamberg.
From May 21st to 24th, 2026, kontakt – the cultural festival – will take place for the 20th time.
"kontakt through space and time" – this is the motto of the anniversary edition. The festival looks back on its history, past locations, and themes while simultaneously opening a door to the future.
