Every year, the Bamberg Cathedral Music Department (Organ Division) presents its now traditional Saturday concerts on Saturdays during the summer months

From May to the end of October, a half-hour organ concert takes place in the cathedral every Saturday around noon (12:00 to 12:30).

The concert series features well-known as well as rarely performed organ works from many centuries, played by renowned organists from Germany and abroad. Friends of organ music, and visitors who wish to experience the beauty of Bamberg Cathedral while enjoying the magnificent sounds of organ music, are warmly welcome. The cathedral opens its doors to concertgoers at 11:30 a.m. and closes at 12:00 p.m. for the duration of the concert to ensure an undisturbed listening experience for all. The program for each concert will be distributed in the cathedral shortly before the performance. Admission to all Saturday concerts is free; however, donations are welcome.

There is one exception each year: the midday concert is cancelled on the Saturday during the Sandkirchweih festival (mid-August). Instead, a large organ concert will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. for the Sandkirchweih. Tickets are charged for this concert (available from August onwards in advance from the bvd and at the box office). Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
