Jewish citizens have been at home in Bamberg ever since the bishopric was founded in 1007. Around 1200 the Jewish community in Bamberg was among the most prominent in Germany. The continual ups and downs culminated in the obliteration of Jewish life during the period of national socialism. This guided tour gives an insight into the turbulent history of Jews and Christians living side by side in Bamberg, whilst also outlining the present-day situation of the Jewish community.
